Mastering the Early Game Fundamentals

During the first week of the Ragnarok Origin Classic (ROOC) Closed Beta Test, we noticed a huge trend: many players are struggling to decide what class to use, how to allocate their stats, and where to farm efficiently.

Whether you are trying to find the best F2P builds or just need a solid leveling guide, this hub is built from our actual CBT experiences to help you avoid early-game mistakes.

1. Mastering the Shops & Economy

The economy is the lifeblood of your progression. If you want top-tier gear, you need to understand how to manage your resources.

Gold Coins are Your Best Friend: Treat your gold coins like treasure. They are crucial for buying necessary items and materials from the shop. Don't waste them on early-game impulses.

Farm Your Dailies: Consistency is key. Logging in to complete your daily quests guarantees a steady stream of resources.

Stay Active for Events: Server events drop rare materials and currencies that are otherwise incredibly hard to grind for.

Party Up for Hunts: Don't play completely solo! Joining a party for daily and weekly hunts like HHH (Helheim's Hoax) and TON (Theme of Prontera) is mandatory for quick progression and top-tier loot.

2. Understanding Your Stats

Your stats are your early-game life source. Placing them correctly ensures you stay strong enough to farm efficiently.

The 99 Cap: Keep in mind that base stats max out at 99.

Choose Wisely Early On: Plan your build based on your class. An archer needs DEX for damage, while a knight might prioritize STR and VIT.

Don't Panic About Mistakes: If you mess up your build, don't worry! You will level up fast enough to catch up, and the game provides a handy Refresh button (and stat presets) so you can redo your build if you change your mind later.

3. Weapons & Divine Enchantments

Your weapon dictates your damage output, but it's not just about the base attack power.

Read the Fine Print: Always read your weapon's divine enchantments. Two swords might have the same attack power, but their enchantments can completely change how your class plays.

Class Synergy: No matter what class you are, always stay updated on how your specific weapon scales with your primary stats.

4. Accessories & The Power of Synergy

Do not ignore your rings and necklaces! Accessories are incredibly crucial and hold some of the most valuable stat boosts in the game.

Pick Carefully: Accessories often define your build's specific niche (like boosting critical hit rate or reducing cast time).

The Golden Rule of Gear: Your character's power comes from synergy. Your Stats, Enchantments, Accessories, and Cards must all work together to maximize your damage. A great card in the wrong accessory is a waste of potential.

5. Refinement (Upgrading Your Gear)

Refining your weapons and armor increases their base defensive and offensive stats.

Take Calculated Risks: Upgrading is safe early on, but higher refinement levels carry a risk of breaking or degrading the gear. Always secure backup materials and use safe-refine options when pushing for those high-tier glows!

6. Enchantment (Min-Maxing Your Build)

While refinement boosts base stats, enchantments add entirely new random stats (like extra physical damage, max HP, or evasion) to your gear.

Roll for Perfection: This is where you fine-tune your character for the end-game. Save your enchantment materials for gear you plan on keeping for a long time, and roll until you get the stats that perfectly match your class build.
